Because I teach performance studies courses, I’ve been blessed for 27 years with seeing some incredibly talented people, but Brandon took my breath away. He has so many things going for him.
Carole Tallant, Professor of Communication and Performance Studies, University of North Carolina, Wilmington ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From: Kim Do [email protected] To: [email protected] Brandon is in fact the coolest piano player out there. He taught us how to play things and remembered all of our names correctly! He even added a new twist on songs like singing Journey in Peter Griffin's voice! All of my friends and I crowded around singing to all of his songs and listening to his Family Guy impressions which, I must say, is the raddest thing ever. I even recorded them on my phone and listen to them just to remember! His stories are the funniest things I have ever heard and made me laugh till my stomach was sore. I really miss the cruise and listening to him every night. He is one person I will always remember and made my cruise AMAZINGLY AMAZING. -- Kim Do From: Mark Murphy, Los Angeles, California [email protected]
Brandon made the party. His incredible versatility and skill level can make any night a special one. He is one of a kind who is exceptionally talented, highly professional, and a pleasure to have at the party. Until next time, Mark |
Dear Brandon,
You helped to make our Celebrity Christmas cruise very special. In fact, we all agreed you were the best thing about the cruise, even surpassing the food!! James and I have been on five Celebrity cruises and normally we find one or two entertainers that we like, more that we can’t stand, none that knock our socks off. You were such a delight and surprise. Your talent, your charm, your sense of humor, and your incredible singing voice and piano virtuosity all combined to make you one of the best entertainers we’ve ever seen. (And believe me, we’ve seen some real gems—like Van Morrison!). Never did we dream we’d be spending nearly every night in Michael’s Piano Bar from 10-1 am! Anyway, one of the things that impressed us the most was your obvious skill at combining real performance/storytelling into your singing. Your humor in “Hey, You . . .” and “Sam, You Made the Pants Too Long” combined with the searing heartfelt poignancy of the Elton John and Billy Joel songs really catapulted what could have been mere singing into true artistry. At any rate, I feel certain we will be hearing more from you as you make your way into stardom. Best to you and thanks again for helping to make our cruise so wonderful! "Brandon made us laugh constantly and entertained us with his own
version of "name that tune." Brandon has a great personality and
can play any song requested. He made us feel like we had known him for years...
he rattled off all our names as well as everyone in that bar…
his fans mean something to him, his main objective is to make them feel welcome
and to insure everyone is entertained whether you be 21 or 61."

To: [email protected] Brandon, Thanks for making our Celebrity Century 5-night cruise most memorable. It was Clyde’s first cruise ever and Judy’s 6th but first on a Celebrity cruise ship. We of course enjoyed the beautiful ship, food, and entertainment, but most of all, we looked forward to coming to Michael’s Club every evening at 10:00 pm to listen to you play. We were the tall couple sitting in front who asked you to play “Hey Jude” and “Candle in the Wind” for us and every evening after that when we came in you played it again. We loved your style of entertaining, your mastery of the piano, and your amazing music repertoire was unsurpassed. Thanks again for making our cruise special and if you’re ever in the Washington, DC area, entertaining, let us know and we will be there. We’ll keep track of your career via your website because we know there are great things ahead for you. Best of luck, always and thanks again. Clyde and Judy ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I don't usually stop to listen to someone playing a piano, but Brandon performed with such panache .... He seemed to know every song requested ... a classic hit from the '60s or obscure gem from the '90s ... and played them all with such energy. Brandon made a real effort to connect with the patrons. Every member of my family (from my 56-year-old father to my 22-year-old sister) sang Brandon's praises ..." -- Michael Giordano, Harvard Law From: "Beth Biltz" [email protected]
Brandon: Thank you so much for taking the time for our many requests on last week's cruise..... You are an awesome piano player with a great ear....I can't believe how quick you picked up that David Lanz song after hearing it just once! Friday night was awesome....Thanks for singing as well...you have a wonderful voice.... Good luck with all of your future musical endeavors... Beth Biltz Piano and Voice Teacher.. |
" ... Almost as impressive as his repertoire & zeal
is his uncanny ability to remember everyone's names. We were impressed with Brandon's enthusiasm for trying anything; obscure Billy Joel, playing backup on Hudson's original songs ...." -- Molly Shock From: John Toomey [email protected]
Brandon you did a wonderful job on the cruise. I really enjoyed myself and so did everyone in my group. You were not only able to think on your feet with songs but also able to bring things we just talked about into your show the next day ( FAMILY GUY). I would just like to thank you for being so enthusiastic. You were easily our groups favorite on the ship. We could and did watch you every night. Thanks again. From: Marci Kalember [email protected]
My recent cruise aboard Norwegian Majesty was certainly enhanced by Brandon Kirk. He is a very talented musician and I enjoyed his abilities to provide entertainment in the Polo Club. He is gifted in discerning what music is appropriate for those congregating at any given time. (Brandon, hope you are doing all right and had a great week with the spring break group) |
